Georgia HFMA is one of the leading chapters within the National HFMA organization. This achievement is only possible because of the support of volunteers. To help you select a committee on which to serve, attached is a brief description of each committee.

2011-12 Council/Committee List

COMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL:

  • SCROLL Committee - Solicit articles & publish quarterly newsletter.
  • Public Relations Committee - Promote GA HFMA, including publication of online Express News.
  • Website Committee - Maintain GA HFMA website.
  • Chapter Photographer - Capture pictures of GA HFMA Chapter activities.

EDUCATION COUNCIL:

  • Education Content Committee - Plan/administer quarterly Institute education.
  • Education Logistics Committee - Plan/administer quarterly Institute events, including food/entertainment.
  • Registration Committee - Administer quarterly Institute pre-registration & on-site registration.

FORUMS Council:

  • Revenue Cycle Forum - Plan/administer workshops throughout the state (Northern and Southern regions will be maintained with duplicative programs).  Plan/administer webinars (workshops and CPAR classes). Plan/administer the logistics of the Forums Workshops, including on-site locations & webinars.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL:

  • Advanced CPAR Committee - Plan/administer educational offerings & maintain database.
  • CPAR/CFC Committee - Plan/administer coaching, testing, and awards banquet, as well as maintain reference manual and database.
  • National HFMA Certification - Plan/facilitate HFMA’s certification coaching and recognition events for certified members.

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES COUNCIL:

  • Membership Committee  - Plan/administer membership recruitment and retention programs. Update/distribute annual membership directory.

OUTREACH COUNCIL:

  • Organizational Outreach Committee - Solicit/plan/administer events with other organizations, etc. with sister professional organizations and other organizations.
  • Student Outreach Committee - Solicit/plan/administer events with other organizations, etc. in the academia world.

PROACTION COUNCIL:

  • Federal and State Issues Committee - Increase influence on Federal and State legislative/regulatory policy of HFMA/GA HFMA.
  • Financial Executive Forums Committees - Plan/administer workshops throughout the state.
  • Center for Health Transformation Committee – Plan/administer sessions to be held at the Chapter’s quarterly Institutes.

QUALITY COUNCIL:

  • Benchmarking and Survey Committee - Complete membership surveys & educational evaluations; compile & maintain data.
  • Founders Award Committee – track Founders points and communicate with National to keep current.
  • Davis Chapter Management System (DCMS) - Administer chapter reporting & coordinate Yerger award submissions.
  • Awards Committee – Yerger writing and Education & Chapter awards work.
