Oceanside, NY, January 12, 1998: The vast resources of the "world wide web" are now providing hospital directors of patient accounts and physician practice managers with an internet resource. The PAMlist (Patient Accounts Management Listserver) is a discussion forum that is available to healthcare professionals, primarily those who are part of the cash flow cycle.
At present, there are over 500 subscribers to the list (including a few from Canada and Europe) who can post questions, answers or information that is communicated and distributed using E-mail. Subscribers can enroll at no charge from the "host" web site. Each day that there are postings, an issue of the PAMlist is delivered by electronic mail to each subscribers E-mail address. Most Internet providers enable their customers to use convenient "reply" icons to facilitate a subscribers reply to a question, or "create mail" icons to pose one of their own. With many healthcare organizations developing web sites, the number of participants is expected to continue to grow.
With the large number of subscribers, the PAMlist enjoys a diverse make-up of hospital and physician practice participants, as well as vendors, consultants, and other allied healthcare professionals. There is as likely to be a dialogue on hospital outsourcing or physicians joining an MSO.
The PAMlist is hosted by D E K A Y E Consulting, Inc., which is a national firm specializing in Accounts Receivable management services for hospitals and physicians. For those interested in subscribing, they should visit the companys web site at http://www.dekaye.com. For those without Internet access, more information can be obtained by calling, (516) 678-2754.
