Get to Know HFMA Members
at the Grady Health System
Three key members of the Patient Financial
Services Department at the Grady Health System (somewhat)
willingly agreed to share their lighthearted nature and
some fun facts and trivia with all of us!
Larry Bradley is the
Senior Director of Patient Financial Services for the Grady
Health System. Larry has worked at Grady for the past year and a
half; he has a 28-year tenure in the health care industry.
- My very first job was "An IRS Auditor
in Chamblee, Georgia."
- My hobbies include "Golf and
reading."
- When Im not at work, youll
find me "On the golf course."
- My favorite restaurant is "I never
have time to eat out!" (All of Larrys time
must be spent working and golfing!)
- If I won a million dollars, I would
"Take a vacation."
- My favorite sport is "Golf."
- What actor would play you in a movie of
your life or job? "John Wayne."
- My ideal vacation would be to "Attend
golf school at a swanky resort."
- My family includes "My wife, Carol, a
first grade teacher and my son and daughter-in-law, Chuck
and Lexie."
Charlotte Couch is the
Director of Patient Accounts for the health system. Employed at
Grady for the past year, Charlotte was hesitant to admit her
employment in the healthcare industry began 20 years ago!
- What led you to work for the Grady Health
System? "The ultimate challenge!"
- My very first job was "A telephone
operator in Macon, Georgia; I was 15 years old."
- My hobbies include "Reading,
swimming, shopping, and riding horses."
- When Im not at work, youll
find me "On the way to or from work!"
- My favorite restaurant is "Any place
where Im not picking up the check!"
- The best concert I ever attended was
"The Rolling Stones."
- I will not eat "Squid."
- If I won a million dollars, I would
"Be almost debt free!"
- My favorite sport is "Basketball and
horseback riding."
- My pet peeve is "Stressed out
commuters on I-75."
- What actress would play you in a movie of
your life or job? "Some southern unknown - with a
weight problem!"
- If I had to work for free, a job I would
choose is "Something with pets."
- The one thing my mother told me, that
Ill never forget is "Never go to bed without
washing your face."
- My family includes "I have a 14 year
old daughter, MacKenzie, at home, and a "grown
up" daughter, Laura. A 7 lb. Maltese lives with us
too."
Linda Leatherman is the
Director of Admissions, Registration, and Financial Counseling
for the Health System. She began working in the industry when she
joined Grady - 26 years ago.
- My very first job was "Playing the
piano for a voice teacher when I was 16 years old, in
Lansdale, PA."
- My hobbies include "Reading
historical fiction, playing the piano,
"sightseeing" at the mall or outlet
stores."
- When Im not at work youll find
me "At the mall, shopping. Actually - Im so
busy right now with work, school, and church
responsibilities that "fun" activities have
been rather sparse!"
- My favorite restaurant is "Old
Spaghetti Factory."
- I will not eat "Raw fish."
- If I won a million dollars, I would
"Give 1/10th to my church, set aside a trust for
nieces and nephews, invest, and do volunteer work."
- My favorite sport is "Baseball."
- My pet peeve is "People who stand in
line in a fast food place and then dont know their
order when they get to the cashier."
- What actress would play you in a movie of
your life or job? "Sally Field."
- If I had to work for free, the job I wold
choose is "Working with senior adults."
- My ideal vacation would be "Touring
the U.S., visiting all of the National League and
American League ball parks."
- The one thing my mother told me, that
Ill never forget is "To always do my
best."
- My family includes "The most
wonderful husband of 28 years; hes an elementary
school teacher at a private, Christian school. My family
also includes two very spoiled cats named Callie (13
years old) and R.T. (8 years old)."
