CPAR Exam is on the Horizon!

It's just about time for the CPAR Exam! Many of your employees are about to tackle what has become a milestone for Patient Financial Services employees who are looking to improve themselves or advance their careers.

Every year the CPAR Committee modifies the CPAR Manual and the CPAR Exam to help your employees meet the changing needs of health care. This year the CPAR Committee also decided to help YOU, the PFS Professional, as well.

Expanding on an employee education program pioneered at Promina Gwinnett Health System this year's CPAR Committee has produced a Managers Resource Packet to help all PFS Professionals help their organizations prepare for the CPAR Exam. And the best part is . . . you can take all the credit!!!!

Here's how . . .

At the Summer Institute in Hilton head, the Managers Resource Packet was distributed for the first time. This packet contains:

1. 6 weeks of "Test Yourself" memos. Each day's questions are formatted so that they can be copied onto YOUR company stationary and overlaid with YOUR memorandum header. Each day's memo includes the answers to the previous day's questions.
2. A 50-question practice test along with an answer key, and a bubble test format if you want to simulate the testing environment.

4. A CPAR Registration/Information Packet

The CPAR Committee recognizes that without you, the PFS Professional, the CPAR program would not be as successful as it is today. We hope that the Managers Resource Packet as well as the additional coaching sessions and testing sites (listed below) will make your organizations involvement with CPAR more productive than ever.

By the time that this article is published, it might be too late to gain the benefits of the packet for this years test. Based on feedback from PFS Managers and Directors, next years CPAR Committee will look at continuing this program in future years.
