WHATS THE POINT?
By: Susan Singleton
The Founders Merit Award Series was created in 1960 as a way for HFMA to recognize individual members for their time, efforts and talents in serving the healthcare industry, their profession and other members.
The Founders Merit Awards consist of four categories. The first three awards are part of a merit rating plan in which specific chapter activities are assigned a range of point values. Members earn points for certain chapter activities and are awarded at subsequent 100 point levels. The fourth award is the Founders Medal of Honor. The Georgia Chapter Board of Directors may make nominations for this award at any time during the year.
AWARD LEVELS
HOW POINTS ARE EARNED
Each year the Chapter submits earned member points to National HFMA by August 10th. Member points are entered and totaled and awards ordered.
The Georgia Chapter depends on YOU, its members to make and keep it a success. Being an active participant in our chapter and in National activities is a rich resource for professional development, information networking and advocacy.
Brochures that describe each activity and its associated points are always available to members upon request and at individual institutes. Founders Merit Award Series brochures and a roster of Georgia members current point accumulation will be made available at the Fall Institute in Savannah.
If you have any questions concerning your total points, or if you feel that you have not received points you may have earned, please call Susan Singleton at (770) 452-1151, or e-mail susan.singleton@ars-net.com.
