PRESENTATION:     
Tracy Mathis and Kit Duncan of Georgia Medicare Part A, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia will provide the latest information on Medicare Part A Billing and Medical Review activities addressing the Medicare Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) program along with an open discussion.

TOPIC:
This session will provide workshop participants with an overview of the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) provided through Medicare Part A.  The workshop will focus on OPPS coverage and OPPS billing, as well as, problematic areas providers commonly experience in billing Medicare Part A.    Additionally, participants will be empowered with resource tools to assist them in their jobs. 

Faculty:
Tracy Mathis is a Medicare Provider Representative with Georgia Medicare Part A, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia.  She has 12 years of experience in communicating contract benefits to employees and Providers.  Tracy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) and is a Licensed Health and Life Insurance Agent in the State of Georgia.  Kit Duncan is the Manager of Medical Review, Appeals and Fraud and Abuse for Georgia Medicare Part A, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia.  She has been with Georgia Medicare Part A since November 1997. Kit graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and received her Master of Science (MSN) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  She is well versed in the Medicare Part A regulations and guidelines, with an emphasis on the Medical Review process, Appeals, and Fraud and Abuse areas.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Staff who interacts with the preparation and submission of the Medicare Part A claim, Medical Review staff, Managers and Administrators.
