Roxann Arnold
,
Treasurer
roxann.arnold@emoryhealthcare.org
As director of Patient Financial Services at Emory University Hospital Midtown and employed there for more than 35 years, Roxann Arnold has seen her share of change! From manual charge posting and hand-assembly of monthly billing to today’s electronic claims adjudication and pre-certification – the world of patient accounting and admissions evolved tremendously since she started working part-time in many different business office functions during high school and teaching vacations.
After earning her undergraduate and master’s degrees at West Georgia College, Roxann was an elementary and high school teacher for seven years in the Carroll County district. She made a career change, and began full time work at Crawford Long Hospital in the business office. She moved quickly into several different leadership positions – her high school part-time experience really paying off here!
Most recently, Roxann was nominated to Woodruff Health Sciences Center’s Woodruff Leadership Academy (WLA). During the year-long WLA program, Roxann was also charged with consolidating all administrative and operational aspects of Emory’s outpatient infusion center into the Emory University Hospital Midtown admissions and billing system.
This year, along with several other projects, Roxann has been working on transitioning additional cardiology and infusion billing practices to the hospital. She is also looking forward to the next couple of years and the challenges of bringing on additional hospitals revenue cycle functions into a Emory Healthcare system environment.
Roxann’s leadership is known as a real strength at Emory Midtown, her management skills and industry knowledge often responsible for her being asked to join, or lead, a variety of hospital and system projects. Today, she is one of the leaders on Emory Healthcare’s Global Patient registration initiative that includes the two hospitals and The Emory Clinic.
