Developing The Right Approach To Patient Payment Plans: Meadows Regional Medical Center’S Experience

Monday, May 20, 2019, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM

More than half of patients are concerned about their ability to pay a medical expense of $1,000 or less. Payment plans are one way to ease patients’ financial concerns while increasing collection rates, but many hospitals don’t offer these payment plans and those who do aren’t talking to patients about their payment options.

Meadows Regional Medical Center will share its success in developing payment plans that resonate with patients. Meadows Regional boasts a 98 percent collection rate for no-interest plans and a 79 percent collection rate for low-payment plans. The Medical Center’s approach boosts Revenue, Patient Engagement, and Patient Satisfaction.

Billie Sue Durden is Director of Patient Access for Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, Georgia. She is a skilled Business and Healthcare Operations Manager with experience in Business Operations, Healthcare Management, Human Resource Management, Data and Statistical Analysis, and Training/Staff Development. She received her Master of Arts in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from Bellevue University.
