Expect the Unexpected: System Conversions



This session will discuss patient accounting system conversion challenges and the financial statement, internal control, and billing implications. Topics include charging methodologies, general ledger mapping, supply and medication pricing, charge description master changes, refund processing, and payment posting and reconciliation.

There will be three (3) Industry Experts from Draffin & Tucker providing this presentation:

Sarah Dekutowski, CPA – Partner - Sarah is a partner in the Resource Solutions group, where she focuses on the healthcare industry. She also assists in the firm’s audit and accounting service group. With more than 20 years in the healthcare industry, serving 10 of those as CFO for two healthcare organizations, Sarah has significant experience in financial management of complex healthcare organizations, revenue cycle improvement, internal controls and compliance.

Darin L. Reed, CPA – Manager - Darin is a manager in Draffin & Tucker’s Audit and Accounting group and Resource Solutions group in Atlanta where he focuses on the healthcare industry. During his time at Draffin & Tucker, Darin has primarily concentrated on auditing healthcare entities, as well as preparing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. Most recently his focus has been on accounting assistance, revenue cycle assessments, system conversions, and interim staffing.

Robert T. Cook, CPA – Supervisor - Robert is a supervisor in Draffin & Tucker’s Audit and Accounting and Resource Solutions service groups in Atlanta, where he focuses on the healthcare industry. Since joining the firm in 2012, Robert has focused on providing audit and consulting services to healthcare entities, as well as preparing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for hospitals and nursing homes. Most recently his focus has been the new lease accounting standard, system conversions and interim staffing.
